A counterclaim is a legal claim brought by a defendant in response to a lawsuit filed against them by the plaintiff. It is a way for the defendant to assert their own claims against the plaintiff, seeking remedies or compensation for alleged harm or wrongdoing. A counterclaim allows both parties to present their arguments and seek legal relief in the same legal proceeding.
